Render Fun
Render Fun is a free render plugin made for SketchUp. It sums itself up in one line: GPU-based path tracing. Inside SketchUp. Free. It is designed to turn a model into a realistic image right where you are working, with no need to export it to another program.
How it works
Render Fun calculates light in the scene with path tracing. The method follows light as it bounces between surfaces according to physical rules, so indirect light, soft shadows and reflections appear without any extra tricks. Because the calculations run on the graphics card, the image starts to appear quickly and sharpens as more samples accumulate. The model, camera and materials you set up in SketchUp are the direct basis of the render; there is no separate scene to build.
Who it is for
It is meant for architects, interior designers, furniture designers and students who build their models in SketchUp. It is a good starting point if you want to see how an idea looks under real light while you design, test materials before showing a client, or get into rendering without setting aside a budget for a new license.
