Title block
A title block, antet in Turkish, is the identity card of a drawing sheet. It usually sits in the bottom right corner or along the right-hand edge. It holds the project name, the client, the block and plot details, the drawing title, scale, date, sheet number and the names and signatures of the designers. It is positioned so that it stays on the front when the sheet is folded, which makes drawings much easier to find in an archive.
What a title block contains
- Project name, location and client
- Block, plot and map sheet details (ada and parsel in Turkey)
- Drawing title and scale
- Date, sheet number and revision information
- Designers’ names, titles, registration details and signatures
For permit drawings in Turkey, the title block’s content and layout follow the requirements of the approving authority.
Keeping track of revisions
The most overlooked yet most important part of a title block is the revision table. It records which sheet changed, when and why. Working from an out-of-date sheet on site is a common and costly mistake, and clear revision information reduces that risk. Using a single title block template across an office keeps sheets consistent and makes it harder to forget key information.
