How to Present a 3D Architectural Project to Clients
A step-by-step approach to presenting 3D architectural projects to clients, from the project summary to animation, VR and answering questions.
When presenting architectural projects, you need to send your work to the client using a clear technique. Knowing how to present a 3D architectural project well can make all the difference.
In the stage just before a 3D project is completed, the presentations you make to the client are what move the project toward a result.
From a marketing and advertising point of view, the importance of presentation shows itself here as well.
A good presentation strategy helps sell your project and encourages clients to keep working with you for a long time.
How to Present a 3D Architectural Project
Interior design and visualization, 3D architectural project visualization and animation
In the video above, I explain what you should do when presenting interior projects such as apartments, villas, cafes, restaurants, hotels and spas.
You can use the same techniques in similar work to carry out your presentation stages.
Build a storyline around the interior and exterior visualizations of your projects and, if the client asks for it, present them as a video in the form of a 3D animation.
Where needed, you can enrich the presentation with 360° VR renders of selected spaces.
The presentation of 3D architectural projects can vary depending on the purpose of the project, the target audience and the setting of the presentation. In general, though, the following steps are useful:
- Start with a summary of the project goals, the design and the architectural details. This helps the audience understand the purpose of the project and what kind of building has been designed.
- Use 3D modeling to show the project from different angles. This helps explain the architectural details, dimensions, materials and functions. At this stage, you can also present features such as the color palette, lighting and shading.
- Present the interiors and details of the project as well. This is important for understanding its functionality and aesthetics. For example, room layouts, furniture designs and materials give an idea of how the project will work in the real world.
- Present the environmental factors of the project. These include its location, vegetation, terrain and other site conditions. They are important for showing how well the design fits its surroundings and how it will affect them.
- Use animation or virtual reality to explore the project from a real-world perspective. This gives a better idea of how the project will look and work in real conditions.
- At the end of the presentation, highlight the project’s features, advantages and benefits, and above all answer the audience’s questions.
All of these steps may change depending on the project goals and the presentation setting, but in general they are useful when presenting 3D architectural projects.
